I've never owned a pressure cooker because everyone I knew said they were dangerous. I'm sure they're much better now than when my mother and grandmother used them. So what's a good brand to search for? And are there any special details or functions to look for? Thanks all!

I've checked on pressure cookers on the net and found all sorts of nice features. It's been a while but I think I remember an electric one also with electronic settings.
You can get all sorts of information to make an intelligent selection. Live aboard and cruising boater use them a lot. If you live near the sea, you may want to ask around to hear from someone with lots of experience in using them.
I was looking for a pressure FRYER to try and duplicate KFC chicken at home. For your safety, DO NOT fry in your pressure cooker unless the manufacture specifically states that it is made to be used that way.
What are you fixing us, dear?
