For a single person this is a great cooker to make 5 or 6 microwaveable meals at once. Reduces Cooking times there by using less electricity.. For more info ... Video Rating: 4 / 5
Also have the butcher cut the bones into smaller pieces they contain more vitamins than anything you can buy off the shelf. Boil them for a few hours in a large stockpot with plenty of onions, carrots and celery and freeze you can let it simmer a longer period of time to concentrate it for easier freezer storage. If you do not like soup then do the same thing and give it to your dogs or your neighbors for doggy stew.
I recommend a site called Recipezaar just type in Brine or marinade and use the recipes with the most stars. They also have over 400 recipes under Deer and under Venison
1. Age the meat in a large walk in refrigerator on a hook 2-3 days 2. Debone the meat when butchering instead of cutting through it 3. I am not a hunter but I cook with game meat often since it has grown on me and is healthier than store bought beef.
Thank you very much for takeing the time to reply to that. I use vinegar and salt to get the gamey tast out of deer. It works ok, but I am new to hunting and im sure the must be another way. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Thank you.
yes it does have a gamey taste mostly in the fat. In Romania my friends used to soak it in red wine 24 hours before cooking it and it would help a lot. The taste grows on you though if you continue eating it even if you do not like it at first. When I first started eating it I preferred it BBQ'd greek style
A hay box or a bunch of blankets in a box can also slow cook foods in a SHTF situation just cook 30 min with propane then wrap with blankets and put it in a box for 2-3 hours it will continue cooking.
You're a horrible person for using that ecologically unfriendly styrofoam plate when you could be using a 100% recycled one. I bet a whole bunch of baby animals died because of that plate.
Sorry , every time your not in screen and your talking, your voice makes me think of Larry the Cable Guy, just makes your vids that much more enjoyable. We have never used a pressure cooker, but this sounds like it would be very beneficial. Try a baby bottle scrubber to the crack.
I checked out the prices on all sets ( including the Canning Cooker) -- VERY reasonably priced!!!! I plan on getting the canning set and the cooker set,...thank you Dave!!! :)

ReplyDeleteHi David,
ReplyDelete It looks like a crock pot. Does a pressure cooker cook better (or faster) than a crock pot?
How does goat meat tast? Is it gamey?
