Survival after disaster is always something I think about. Cooking off grid is a very important skill that maybe overlooked. This is a pressure cooker review... Video Rating: 4 / 5
look up "Lodge" and there Dutch Ovens...best i have ever used..much like a pressure cooker do to the weight of the lid and like all cast iron..lasts forever and is safer than a pressure cooker.
Amazing that I was thinking just the other day about this exact topic. I have a LOT of food stored away and beans and rice are on the menu. True they are fuel hogs when the grid is down and I never thought of this. Cindy, You and Mike are ingenious to come up with this idea, Whether it was past on from another video or your own idea is no matter, but this is a fantastic idea. To be able to cook beans or rice in minutes instead of hours. What a perfect add to preps. Thanks. I have one on the way
Had a Glock 26, loved it, did a stupid thing and sold it. Now have a Glock 23. Just can not go wrong with a Glock. Thanks again for all the effort you and Mike put into your videos. It is appreciated!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Mike ended up with a Glock 36. I'm still considering a 9mm but want to wait until things calm down and prices level out.
Love your video's. After watching this one I have decided to add a pressure cooker to our prep. Did you ever end up getting the 9mm Glock for your personal carry weapon? Glock 26?
Sugar, WHERE do you live? That looks like the low country on the Georgia Coast. My home away from home. I dearly adore St. Simons Island. That pressure cooker is awesome. What a great tool to have. -Lisa
You could make a video about survival in the jungle, where you kill a chicken and makes a delicious stew recipe, and took the opportunity to show how to handle the pressure cooker, since when she picks up the pressure when you remove it from the heat and release the internal pressure. All we love the video. thank you
I bought one of these used off ebay after seeing your video, the 5.7 gsi. When i got ready to test it out i noticed one of the locking pins insert was missing, would you think the unit is still safe to use that way? Also i didnt see a replacement piece on the gsi website. Loved the video of the folding firebox too!!!!
.The GSI only produces 10 Lbs of pressure so it takes a little longer to cook than a normal cooker. Beans normally take 2 Hrs to cook so you will need to cook them for 35to 45 min. You do not need to soak the beans with the pressure cooker but it will speed up the process a little. I found the WoodGas LE stoves work well with the GSI as you have more control over the heat and do not have to rely on fuel only wood.
nice blouse;
ReplyDeleteI hear that.... Thank you for watching :)

Hi, can you do a video on how to use water purification tablets for survival. Thank you
ReplyDeleteActually the solution is to soak them beans for 24 hours at least, doesn't take any fuel, it takes only a bit of water and patience.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I would feel comfortable using it if there was an issue with it... Thank for watching though.
