You can minimize the damage but you cannot "cook" without harming the environment. the best way is probably solar ovens or stoves. But even then you would have to mine and manufacture the stuff. even with that, i doubt u will a nice hot sunny day everyday at anytime to cook your food. OR u can get a Lithium ion batter and charge it with solar panels during the day, then use the power to power your little skillet :). But pretty much, there is no way to not harm the environment. But u can reduce the harm you cause.

  1. start a fire, throw some rocks in there, take the rocks out, and put food on the rock. that could be like a brick oven pizza, but with stones and no oven. eggs, bacon, beef, chicken, etc...

  3. Everything we buy, consume or do has some effect on the environment, so you can reduce your impact, but not eliminate it. The mere fact you are eating means you have taken something from the earth, heating means you are using another resource. So here are a few guidelines. When shopping for food try to buy fresh, local and organic, look for minimal processing and minimal packaging. Look for grass raised beef, free range chicken and look for organic. Before you go shopping plan a menu, try to limit meat consumption and waste. Use the butcher to ensure you get the amount of meat you need and no more to prepare the meal. When you cook, gas is better than electric, unless you are talking about the microwave. When heating put lids on your pots, slow cookers and pressure cookers are both energy savers. Consider making double batches of entrees and freezing the leftovers for another meal. You can also freeze in individual containers for lunches etc. It takes less energy to reheat in the microwave than to cook a whole meal. Store items in reusable glass not plastics. Integrate raw fruits and vegetables into your meals, these are by far the best choice for the environment.
