  1. I bought my first electric pc, a Farberware, in 1989. Awful thing. I'd already owned stovetop pc's for about 10 years and thought I'd like the convenience. Nonsense. I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned that the electric cookers all run at about 10 lb of pressure, adding about 1/3 in time over the stovetop cookers. 3. I'd be interested to see the results of testing the more multi-purpose electric pressure cookers/slow cookers/rice cookers with thick stainless internal steel pots. They're still probably not as good for pressure cooking as stovetop pressure cookers, but they still might be worthwhile as one appliance that can do a decent job replacing a slow cooker/crock pots, pressure cooks some things well, steams things quickly, and cooks rice.
