Save my rump roast please!?

Question by Leah's Mommy: Save my rump roast please!?
Ok. I have a 3 pound rump roast. Should I throw it in the crock pot? I don't have any beef broth or cream of mushroom soup. I do have some carrots but thats it. Should I pressure cook it after I season it? Help!

PS - FWIW, I have an electric pressure cooker.

My wife LOVES cooking rosts in the electric cock pot. Put some seasonings on it and your carrots and you may have a very nice meal.

  1. Put it in a baking dish with some water and your carrots and cook slow. Season it really good especially if you have meat tenderizer. Good luck.

  2. Cook it in the oven for a few hours with some water and season the top of it. Cook it for 3 hours on 300 degrees.

sear the roast first season and either slow cook in crock pot for six hours or if in a hurry use the pressure cooker which will likely cook in 30-45 minutes. Use a cup of water or wine in slow cooker and you should have a broth to thicken on the stove as gravy

  4. If you have tomato sauce, this is a great alternative for a crock pot.

    1 can tomato sauce

    1 can water

Add spices that suit your tastes

  5. Season your roast with garlic powder and pepper, and then sear the roast in a skillet, to seal in the juices.

Cook in the oven at 300 degrees farenheit for several hours (3-4) with the carrots, (potatoes and onions if you have them are good as well) and add a couple inches of water to the pan. Season with salt and pepper, fresh garlic gloves or garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, and other spices of your liking.

When the roast is done, it should be tender, and the water will have turned into beef broth. In a separate sauce pan, make a roux (equal parts of butter and flour) by melting the butter, and then whisking in the flour on a medium heat. Next add the beef broth from the pan, whisking, and cook it for a few minutes until it is thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

    Yum!

  6. A crock pot is the easiest way to cook it and it will be tender and juicy when its done all you need to do is to season it and put your carrots in it and maybe like 1/4 to 1/3 cup of water and put it on high for like 4-6 hours and up to 8 hours check it to see if it's tender like you want before you serve it.
